Le Miami MetroZoo est le plus grand et le plus vieux jardin zoologique de Floride. Il est situé au sud-ouest de la ville de Miami dans le comté de Miami-Dade aux États-Unis. Le zoo accueille près de 900animaux et est le seul zoo subtropical des États-Unis continentaux. Il s'étend sur un terrain de près de300 hectares dont 120 hectares sont équipés pour accueillir le public.
Quel endroit extraordinaire pour passer la journée (je dis bien la journée), que ce soit seul ou en famille. Tant d'animaux à voir, d'Asie, d'Afrique, d'Europe, d'Océanie, des Amériques, des quatres coins de la planète, tant sur la terre que dans les airs ou sous la mer. Un seul petit hic cependant...les animaux ne sont pas très actifs en plein été car il fait trop chaud! Alors le meilleur temps serait plutôt de septembre à avril. One of the world's great zoos is right here in Miami-Dade County. Zoo Miami houses more than 900 wild animals in a cageless setting that closely approximates the animals' natural habitats and gives the visitor the feeling of embarking on an international safari. Large, open-air exhibits allow visitors to enjoy beautiful and endangered wildlife at a safe yet remarkably close range. With nearly 300 developed acres on a 740-acre parcel of land, Zoo Miami is the only zoo in the continental United States located in a subtropical climate. This enables the Zoo to showcase animals that cannot easily be exhibited in colder climates. Trek through Asia and see Asian River Otters, Komodo Dragons, and Bengal Tigers.
